Homeschool science can be so intimidating for many parents to teach their children.

But it doesn’t have to be that scary. Supercharged Science makes it SO easy with their fun and exciting e-Science Homeschool Science Curriculum! Supercharged Science has generously provided us with a full year of access for all levels, K-12. Read along as we review the program and show how we’ve been using it in our homeschool.

So what exactly IS e-Science Homeschool Science Curriculum?

e-Science Homeschool Science Curriculum from Supercharged Science is an online subscription program that not only to motivates students to want to learn about science but also provides a foundation of solid academics. There are 1,000’s of videos and oodles of hands-on experiments. It is designed to be self-guiding, which makes it super easy on us parents! It has even won many awards, including being one of Cathy Duffy’s top 102 picks and Homeschool World’s best science curriculum!

*Note: The curriculum comes from a creation-neutral perspective which makes it a great choice for all homeschoolers, regardless of beliefs.

How We Are Using It

Once you are logged into the website there are a few different ways you can approach getting started. There are options for following along by grade level, or you can choose where to start by topic. Because we got started with Supercharged Science mid-year, and we are working with multiple grade levels at the same time, we decided to start by topics.

When you choose a unit, you are brought to an introduction with some light reading and a video introducing you to the unit topic. After that you can click on to the lessons in the unit. Each unit includes some reading on the lesson which is great for older kids to dive deeper into the material (you can download additional reading material right from the lesson page). There are also videos and experiments for each lesson, most using common everyday household items you already have, or that are easily obtained. I really appreciated that there are downloadable student worksheets too as it gives some physical evidence for learning (if you have to do reporting in your homeschool, this is very helpful).

Of course, everyone’s favorite part are the experiments! We were able to do a number of experiments during our review period, some or our favorites were: building bridges, making a barrel roof and building bobsleds! Take a look at all the fun we had!

My Final Thoughts

I really enjoy using this curriculum with my kids. The lesson videos and readings are in nice short manageable sized chunks which means we are able to learn the concepts, but they don’t drag on, so my kids don’t lose interest. Aurora is fun and upbeat, not at all boring like some other scientific videos. The number of experiments and exercises available for each unit means that you can choose the ones that fit best for your family.

If you’re curious about the program, but still on the fence, they offer a full money-back guarantee on the e-Science program so that you can try it out for a month to see if it works for you and your kids.
