What comes to mind when you hear the word geography?
For me, it brings up thoughts of map work, lots of map work. But geography is so much more than that! We were recently given the opportunity to use and review Let’s Go Geography, Year 2 from Let’s Go Geography.
What is it?
Let’s Go Geography, Year 2 is a 32-week geography curriculum aimed at grades K through 4 that takes you to countries all around the world. Each lesson is designed to be completed in 1 week using hands-on crafts, activities, videos, songs and more to help children learn about each country!
https://www.letsgogeography.com/geography-curriculum-for-kids/The lessons come as downloadable pdfs and can be completed in any order you choose. Each lesson includes the following chapters:
- Are You Ready?
- Map It
- The Flag
- The Music
- Let’s Explore
- Create!
- Printables
How did we use it?
When you log into your dashboard you will see your curriculum laid out by year and semester. There is also a “tips” section for teachers/parents. Because the lessons are so flexible, we decided to jump around rather than follow the order they were presented in. This was great because I was able to let my daughter choose the countries that most interested her first.
Once we chose a country we were able to download the specific lesson for it and print out any of the needed pages and organize any necessary supplies. There are so many great photos included to show what life is like in each country along with links to videos of cultural music and other interesting things about the country.
Our favorite sections were the videos, coloring pages and of course, the crafts!
What Did We Think?
I really like how everything was laid out in a simple format, and almost everything I needed was included (aside from crafting/coloring supplies).
Sure, I could scour the internet for facts, photos and videos of different countries on my own, but that would take forever! And as a homeschooling mom of 3 children, I just don’t have the extra time to do all of that legwork.
Let’s Go Geography does all the research and organization for me and I feel like that alone is worth it’s weight in gold! At the time of this review, the Year 2 curriculum is priced at only 27.99 for a 2-year subscription (there is also an option for lifetime access). That gives you access to 32 weeks worth of lessons, which works out to only .87 cents per weekly lesson!
There is also a Year 1 collection available, as well as a Year 3 collection in the works. I feel like this curriculum is a great way to introduce your children to so many countries that they probably wouldn’t normally study while keeping things light and fun!
I would definately recommend this curriulum to other homeschoolers looking for a way to make geography fun for the whole family!

This is such a neat format and way to learn. I have fond feelings of thinking of homeschooling my now 4 year old and 2 year old, but I also have my doubts so when I see other families doing it, it helps to quiet those self-defeating thoughts. Glad I read this.
Such a great way to learn. I love Geography and enjoy exploring with my grandbabies.
As a parent of a 4 year old who is looking toward the window of beginning school it was interesting to see some of what goes on with homeschooling and some of the tools you use. Great read!
this looks super cool! my son likes any type of learning that’s on the computer!
This looks like great learning! Geography was always one of my favorite subjects.
