It’s that time of year again when the temperatures are starting to rise to a comfortable level and the weather is decent.
For those of us that have felt cooped up all winter, now is our chance to get outside and take in that fresh air and sunshine! But what if you’re not quite sure what to do outside with your little ones? Have no fear! Here is a list of some fun, yet simple activities you can do outside with your children!
-
Plant a garden
Little ones love to dig! Why not put their skills to good use and plant a small flower or vegetable garden? As an added bonus, you have a helper for pulling weeds!
-
Take a stroll to a local playground.
Swings and slides are always a crowd pleaser! Your kids can have fun while working off some of that endless energy! It’s a win/win for all!
-
Teach them how to play Hop Scotch.
Many kids today don’t know the joys of a simple game of Hop Scotch. From toddlers all the way up to mom and dad, this one is great for all!
-
Draw with sidewalk chalk.
From the scribbles of the younger ones to the masterpieces of the older ones, the creative juices are sure to flow with this activity!
These are just a few ideas to get you started, but the possibilities are endless. Run around in that warm sunshine, or splash in the puddles brought on from spring rain showers!
Love these reminders, especially the working in the garden-we don’t do that enough!
Crystal,
These are great ideas to do with little kids. I have grown kids and a young teen, plus a 7 year old grandson. We’ve done all of these fun things together many times. Simple and outdoors is the best! Have a wonderful week. 🙂
